Under Bill’s leadership, Omega has achieved both local and national accolades.CC

Today, we own and operate several data centers and provide best-in-class private cloud, managed services, and back-up and disaster recovery solutions for clients throughout eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.

We are focused on building client partnerships with businesses of all sizes in industries such as education, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing and distribution, finance, legal, government, entrepreneurial enterprise, and non-profit.

What is SOC 2 Compliance?

SOC 2 compliance is a component of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA)’s Service Organization Control reporting platform.  Compliance is voluntary for technology-based service organizations like Omega Systems that store customer data in the cloud.

The goal of SOC is to ensure that systems are set up to ensure security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy of customer data. It is a technical audit, but also requires companies to establish and follow strict information security policies and procedures.

The AICPA regularly updates the standard, so ongoing certification illustrates our commitment to continuous improvement and regular external scrutiny.

The SOC 2 Type 2 report tests the “operating effectiveness” of the systems we use to process data and describes the security and privacy of that data.

Today, business leaders are accountable for how private information is stored and transmitted and required to disclose data breaches in a timely manner. This also applies to information handled by third parties. If service providers manage, secure, or host your data, SOC 2 compliance is an important consideration.
